President Isaac Herzog’s welcome party
The visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Sydney February 9, 2026, was a highly controversial moment in modern Australia. Leading to protest in every major city for the duration of his four day stay.
The protest was falsely labelled as ‘illegal’ under the restructuring of laws around mass crowd gatherings post Bondi shooting. These laws were originally designed for sporting events.
This series reflects the retrospective order of events. As the protestors lost a last minute legal battle to march to Parliament the crowd was unable to disperse after a police crowd control technique called ‘Kettling’ was enforced.
Many were pepper sprayed, antagonised by police and many simple incidents of lost footing resulted in mass arrest and brutality from the NSW police.
